The process of ACP recruitment is conducted and carried out by the UPSC and candidates are selected through Civil Services Exam.

ACP Post Eligibility Criteria-

Academic Qualification –
Graduate from recognized university or equivalent

Professional Attainment -
Speed in shorthand & typing
80/40 words per minute (English)
80/30 words per minute (Hindi)

Preference -
Working knowledge of
-Accounts & Office procedure
-Knowledge of drafting and office procedure

Age -
18 to 25 Years
Relaxable by 5 years for
-SCs/STs & Departmental candidates
-Ex-servicemen as per rule prescribed by G.O.I.

Physical Standard -
Sound state of health free from defect/deformity/disease vision 6/12 with or without glasses both eyes, free from colour blindness
No Relaxation Permissible

Written test-


All candidates, who qualify the physical endurance & measurement tests, shall be put through a written test of one and a half hour (1½ ) duration which will carry 100 marks.

The question paper will be of objective type (Bilingual) and include questions on Reasoning [35 marks], General Knowledge/Current Affairs [50 marks] & Numerical Ability [15 marks] respectively.

1. Paper I
Subjects - General Test (a) General Intelligence and Reasoning
(b)General Awareness
(c)Numerical Ability
Duration - 2 Hours
Marks - 400 Marks

2. Paper II
Subjects - (a) Hindi Language - 100 Marks
(b) English Language - 100 Marks
Duration - 2 Hours
Marks - 200 Marks

Interview-


After the Written Test candidates will be called for interview on the basis of the merit in the Written Test. The Interview will carry 10 marks.
Additional Bonus Marks :
a. 1 mark for NCC 'B' certificate;
b. 2 marks for NCC - 'C' certificate;
c. 3 marks to candidates who measure 178 cms height or above;

For Assistant Commissioner of Police the entire process is held and carried out by the Union Public Service Commission and aspirants are selected through Civil Services Examination.

Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:

The aspirants must hold any degree in any discipline from any acknowledged university. Final year degree aspirants who will obtain degree by August 1, 2013 are also eligible.

AGE limit:
General aspirants: 21 years - 30 years
OBC aspirants: 21 years - 33 years
Scheduled Caste: 35 years
Scheduled Tribes: 35 years
blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedic ally handicapped persons: 40 years

Nationality


(1) For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.

Plan of Examination
General Note about Examination Scheme .The subjects of examination, time allowed and maximum marks for each subject will be:

1. Paper I

Other Information Regarding Plan of Examination: Note: Paper I will be of only "Objective-Multiple-Choice Type" to be added in the total marks while determining the merit list.
