The Indian Police Service is one of the prestigious post in the country and the IPS exam is part of the UPSC Civil Services Exam which is conducted every year. UPSC Civil Services Exam is conducted every year and consists of three stages and the selection procedure for IPS (Indian Police Service) by UPSC is: Civil Services Preliminary Exam Civil Services Mains Exam Interview/Personality Test The selection procedure for this is: CSAT (civil service aptitude test) Civil service main exam Interview Age limit: General-The maximum age for a candidate is 32 years. OBC- The maximum age for a candidate is 35 years. SC/ST- The maximum age for a candidate is 37 years. Physically handicapped- The maximum age for a candidate is 42,45 and 47 years for general, OBC, SC/ST respectively. Number of attempts: General- 6 attempts OBC- 9 attempts SC/ST- unlimited number of attempts Physically handicapped- 9 attempts for general and OBC, while unlimited for SC/ST Eligibility: Age: the candidates must be at least 21 years of age Education: Candidates must have a degree from recognized university in any discipline. the candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for this exam. Nationality: For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India. |
