Re: Data Base Management System

A Database is a collection of records. Database management systems are designed as the means of managing all the records.

Database Management is a software system that uses a standard method and running queries with some of them designed for the oversight and proper control of databases.

Types of Database Management Systems:

There are four structural types of database management systems:

-Hierarchical databases.

-Network databases.

-Relational databases.

-Object-oriented databases

For getting more information about types here I am attaching an attachment:

Models

A database model is a type of data model that determines the logical structure of a database and fundamentally determines in which manner data can be stored, organized, and manipulated.

Common logical data models for databases include:

-Navigational databases
Hierarchical database model
Network model
Graph database

-Relational model

-Entity–relationship model
Enhanced entity–relationship model

-Object model

-Document model

-Entity–attribute–value model

-Star schema

An object-relational database combines the two related structures.

Physical data models include:

-Inverted index

-Flat file

Other models include:

-Associative model

-Multidimensional model

-Array model

-Multivalue model

Specialized models are optimized for particular types of data:

-XML database

-Semantic model

-Content store

-Event store

-Time series model
