There are 3 qualifying stages for becoming a company secretary, namely:

Foundation stage,
Intermediate stage and
Final stage

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) offers this study course.

After completing all above stages, Training is an important aspect of the company secretary course.

After company secretary, you can find good positions in the private sector and public sectors, banks and financial institutions.

You can also look for openings in stock exchanges, the Department of Company Affairs, company law boards and various government departments.

The larger the company and the wider its field activity, the better are the emoluments earned by the company secretary.

Pay scale:
Company secretary salary largely depends upon the abilities of the person himself and the company he is working with.
On an average a newly appointed company secretary can get nearly Rs. 4,00,000 to Rs. 5,00,000 per years.
Those with abilities and some experience can get more than double this initial amount.
