Re: Career Opportunities In Astrophysics
To make a career in astronomy candidates must have to be good at general physics. Candidates may enter into institute through JEST Examination which is held once in a year. The JEST examination consists of multiple choice questions, from the area of general physics. Here is a list of the top colleges and universities offering programs in Astrophysics: Indian Institute of Astrophysics Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics; Pune Joint Astronomy Programme (JAP), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore Indian Institute of Science Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram Students who want to get into research can find jobs as scientists at the following institutes: Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, TIFR (Pune) Aryabhata Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad Raman Research Institute (RRI), Bangalore Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore Space Science Centre, ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram |

Re: Career Opportunities In Astrophysics
The roles contained by the space industry are as diverse as the missions themselves. Positions for governmental space organizations typically engage identification of key scientific objectives, and mission planning and management. The career paths in astrophysics and space technology can generally be split into three areas: Scientific Technological Operational. Research and development roles are frequently split into architect and analyst positions, with architects defining the compound infrastructure of a system and analysts responsibility of in-depth analysis and development of individual areas, including: Structural and stress engineering Guidance and navigation control systems Thermal engineering Mechanisms Antennae and telecoms Power system Full system-level simulators. The space industry is really a world leader in translational collaboration, as only the smallest number of companies in this industry will function solely out of one country. The employees in any relevant organisation tends to be extraordinarily diverse, as companies tend to employ the top graduates from academic institutions all over the world. |
