Criteria for Domicile in Bihar

A domicile certificate is a resident certificate too.

It is generally issued to prove that the person bearing the certificate is a
domicile of the State/UT by which the Certificate is being issued.

Domicile Certificate is required as proof of residence to Quotas in educational institutions and in the Government Service

Eligibility
A candidate who is an Indian citizen and holding land in Bihar are eligible to avail the service.

A female candidate who is not originally belonging to a State/UT, but married to men who are permanent residents of the State/UT are eligible to apply for Domicile Certificate.

Required Documents
A candidate need following documents if you want to apply for a Domicile Certificate:

Proof that you have been resident of the state for minimum period that is specified by the state.

Proof that you are an owner of land in that state

Valid identification proof

School certificates

In case of change domicile of wife to her husband’s domicile, marriage certificate will be needed.
