JNU CEEB (Jawaharlal Nehru University) Combined Biotechnology Entrance Exam 2016 is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for admission to (1) M. Sc (Biotechnology); (2) M. Sc Agri/ M. V. Sc (Biotechnology) and (3) M. Tech (Biotechnology) Programmes being offered by various participating Universities.

Important Dates for JNU Biotech Entrance Exam 2016

Start of Online Application Process from: 08th February 2016 (04.00 pm)
Issue of Offline Application Forms (by Post): 08th February 2016
Last Date for Issue of Offline Application Forms (by Post): 10th March 2016
Closing of Online Application Process till 5.00 p.m. on 21st March 2016
Last Date of Submission of Completed Offline Application Form to reach JNU 23rd March 2016
Date & Time of Entrance Exam: 19th May 2016 (09.00 AM to 12.00 Noon)

JNU CEEB 2016 Entrance Exam Paper Pattern

The question paper for the Entrance Exam will be of three hours duration and divided into two parts:

Part-A will have multiple choice type questions at the level of 10+2 in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
The Candidates will be required to attempt 60 questions.
Total marks for Part A will be (60 questions x 1 mark each) of 60 marks.
There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, ½ (half) mark will be deducted

Part-B will also have multiple-choice questions of Bachelor’s level requiring thinking and analysis.
There will be questions from Physics, Mathematics, Biology (e.g., Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology) and Chemistry.
The candidates will be required to attempt 60 questions.
Total marks for Part B will be 60 questions x 3 marks each = 180 marks.
There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted

Selection Procedure

The selection depends strictly on the basis of inter-se merit of the candidate in the entrance exam in relation to preferences for joining the universities indicated by the candidate.
If candidate has not indicated choice for joining a particular University, name is not considered for that University.
One is asked to exercise their options for joining the universities in the proforma (which will be sent by JNU)
