Re: Civil Competitive Exam Eligibility
No, you are not eligible to write civil service exams conducted by the UPSC or SSC. Civil service exams like IAS, IES, IFS etc. are conducted for the recruitment of Graduate candidates in several Civil Services under the Central Government in different sections like administrative, engineering etc. The eligibility criteria to apply for these exams are to have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university. Eligibility Criteria Nationality: The candidates must be a citizen of India for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service. Age limit: The candidates must be minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on August 1. (In case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST category, the upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years. In case of OBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxable up to 3 years). Educational qualification: The candidates must have a degree of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university. The restriction on the number of attempts is applied in case of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates. Civil Competitive Exam Eligibility Criteria CANDIDATES SHOULD ENSURE THAT THEY SATISFY ALL THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE EXAMINATION. The Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission into the examination. Their admission to all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
