The Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology is a professional training programme, approved by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).


Admission requirements:
If English is not your first language, you need to provide evidence of English proficiency.

We only accept the following English language qualifications:
A first degree from a UK university or from the CNAA.
A first degree from an overseas institution recognised by the University as providing adequate evidence of proficiency in the English language, for example, from institutions in Australia, Canada or the USA.
GCE O-level/GCSE - grade C or above
CSE - grade C or above
SEB - grade C or above
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English - Pass
IELTS – Overall score of 7 or above and at least 6.5 in each subtest


Visa Requirements:
Students on courses of more than 6 months
Students on courses of less than 6 months
Students on a pre-sessional English Language course
