I have heard a lot about the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) ESSC-IITM. Will you provide contact details about CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) ESSC-IITM also provide details about objectives of this IITM Centre?

Re: Catessc-iitm About CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) ESSC-IITM In order to improve the quality of weather and climate forecasts in the country, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Govt. of India has recognized that a large number of well trained scientists, knowledgeable in atmospheric, oceanic and geosciences have to be inducted to the countrys R & D and operational organizations. Objectives To formulate and start an advanced training program in Earth System Sciences and Climate with state of art infrastructure facilities with a robust recruitment process, and modest stipend to the trainees. To utilize the high end computational facilities for the trainees for hands on training of the global numerical models. To prepare and encourage the development of early career scientists in the fields related to Earth System Science, involving ocean, land, atmosphere and sea ice and their interactions. To meet the global standards and make available national and international faculty. To strengthen research and education support for science of Climate and Climate Change and to establish linkages amongst the educational, research and operational organizations in the country. To promote continuing education in Science of Climate, Climate Variability and Climate Change.
