Can I join the Indian Army being a candidate pursuing 3rd year of B.Tech in Mechanica

I am pursuing the 3rd year of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and I want to join the Indian Army? Please tell me can I am eligible for this or not?

Definitely you are Eligible to apply for the Indian Army without Completion of Engineering degree. For this you can apply for CDS exam for joining Indian Defense Services.


The CDS is Combined Defense Services, conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment to the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy & Air force Academy.

The UPSC conducted this exam twice a year i.e FEB & SEPT every year.

You are searching for the eligibility required for this exam. This is as follows:

Eligibility criteria:-

The Age Limit should be between 19-24 years.

For Military Academy-

You should be a Graduate from any recognized University.

For Naval Academy-

You should be a Science Graduate B.Sc with Physics & Mathematics or a B.E graduate can also apply.

For Air force Academy-

Graduate from a recognized University with Physics & Maths at 10+2 level or should be an Engineering Graduate.

The applicant must be citizen of India.

Both Male/Female candidates can apply.

The applicant must be physically & mentally fit

Only unmarried candidates can apply.
