University of Allahabad commonly called AU, Allahabad was set up in 1887, it’s the 4th oldest university of India. The university has always occupied an esteemed place among the universities of India over a century now. It is a centrally finded associate’s university exercising jurisdiction over higher and secondary education in a wide area in Northern and central India. From the beginning the university has been worried about women education.

The university is balanced for exploring new dimensions of institutional accomplishment, by modernizing its academic system, strengthening and augmenting its teaching, research and residential facilities and pursuing social purpose in coordinated manner to keep pace with international standards in these areas and endow human resources with the capabilities to serve the nation in the special context of the challenges and imperatives of globalization.
