Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course.

Candidates who register for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) in the ICAI on or before 1st April/ 1st October of the year would be eligible to appear in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) to be held in June /December respectively.

Demand Draft taken towards registration fee

Attested Copy of 10th class passing marks

Attested copy of Date of Birth certificate

Attested copy of 12th pass or its equivalent qualification

For foreign students attested copy of nationality

Proof of special category certificate i.e. SC/ST, OBC and Disabled

CA CPT Paper Pattern:-
The test comprises of four subjects viz.,
Accounting,
Mercantile Laws,
General Economics and
Quantitative Aptitude

This test is for 200 marks and is divided into two sessions of two hours each with a break in between.

CPT is an objective type test with negative marking.

SESSION – I ( Two Sections – Two hours – 100 marks )
Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 marks )
Section B: Mercantile Laws ( 40 marks )

SESSION – II ( Two Sections – Two hours – 100 marks)
Section C: General Economics ( 50 marks )
Section D: Quantitative Aptitude ( 50 marks)
