SAIL is Steel Authority of India. It is a Maharatna Company of Govt. of India. It is the world's leading and India's largest steel producer. It operates and owns 5 integrated steel plants at Rourkela, Bhilai, Durgapur, Bokaro and Burnpur and 3 special steel plants at Salem, Durgapur and Bhadravati.

The Bhilai Steel Plant is situated in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. It is India's first and main producer of steel rails. It is a major producer of wide steel plates and other steel products.

Education Qualification:
Matriculation with full time engineering diploma in relevant trade

Age Limit:
18-28 years as on 01-09-2013

Salary:
Rs.9160-3%-Rs.13150/-. Consolidate pay will be paid for 2 years @Rs.10, 700 (1st year) & Rs.12, 200 (2nd year)

Application Fee:
Rs.250 for general and OBC, Rs.50 for SC/ST/PWD

Exam pattern and syllabus:

In the written examination, there will be two sections basically i.e. general ability and technical section. Both the sections in total will be of 250 marks and the question paper will contain 125 questions that are to be solved in 145 minutes in whole. All the questions in the written exam for the post of operator cum technician trainee will be multiple choice type questions. The first section of general ability will contain four sections that are given below with the marks distribution also:

Quantitative aptitude related MCQ’S: 35 marks

General awareness related MCQ’S: 35 marks:

General English and grammar related MCQ’S: 35 marks

In the second section of technical paper, the objective type questions will be from the specialized domain only.
