What is the eligibility to join MDS from Banaras Hindu University. Is there any entrance exam to join MDS from BHU or its just on the basis of merit list.

BHU MDS (Banaras Hindu University Master of Dental Surgery) course admission is done on the basis of AIPGDEE for Faculty of Dental Sciences, IMS (Institute of Medical Sciences).

Eligibility
A candidate must have completed B.D.S from a recognized Institute/University along with their one year Compulsory Rotating Internship.

BHU Medical Entrance Exam Patter
The admission test paper will consist of 100 objective types of questions drawn from subjects taught in B.D.S.

The paper in general would be of B.D.S. standard. The paper will be of 100 minutes duration.

Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer for evaluation of OMR sheet.

The qualifying marks will be 50% of the aggregate.

No scrutiny/revaluation of the answer sheet of the test shall be allowed on any ground.

Selection Process for M.D.S. Entrance Test
Common merit list for the available seats is declared and posted on the BHU web site and allotment of subject is done on merit and as per the choice of the candidate at the time of counseling.

In case of equal marks at the test the inter-ranking of the candidates are determined in the following orders:

The aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in the final professional B.D.S. exam.

In case of equal marks vice (i) above, the merit shall be decided on the basis of the aggregate of all the Professional Examinations of B.D.S.

In case of equal marks in the aggregate of the qualifying exam also (ii) the inter-se merit shall be decided on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in the subject concerned at B.D.S. level to which the admission is sought.

If the mark at the above (iii) also happens to be the same the date of birth is the basis i.e. the candidate senior in the age would rank higher in the Merit list.

Selected candidates have to execute a bond on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.100 before joining the course.

Private practice of any kind shall not be permissible during the entire duration of the course.
