The Faculty of Ayurveda at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Ayurveda. It was founded by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in 1922 and is considered the academic "mother" to the Institute of Medical Sciences at Benares Hindu University.
