The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India) is one of the oldest professional institutions in India and it was established in 1914.

For B. Tech in Mechanical:
(Single AICTE Approved option available in India)

Last Date for Admission through Lateral Entry after Diploma Engineering 3 Years: 30th June.

Degree Level Examination:
The Institution conducts Section-A & Section-B of the Associate Membership (also known as Chartered Engineers) examination in mechanical engineering.

Eligibility for Section A:
A Pass in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic with 6 months work experience in Engineering field either as Trainee or Employee or a final pass in T. Eng. Part-II examination of Institution and who have 3½ year Engineering work experience.

Eligibility for Section B:
A Pass in Section-A examination of the institution or equivalent qualification with Engineering work experience.

Admission Procedure:

1. The application shall be submitted to the Study Centre of the University only where they intend to study. No direct form will be accepted by the University.

2. Candidates should submit four copies of passport size photographs of which one must be affixed to the application form at the space provided. The other three copies must be put in a separate cover and enclosed to the application form. On the back of each of these photographs the candidate must mention his name, class and serial number of the admission application from and the program.

3. Before remitting the prescribed fees please make sure that you fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the program applied for. The fee once remitted will not be refunded.

4. Admission made to any program is provisional till the University finally approves it.

5. The students shall, whenever they visit the Study centre bring their identity card and fee paid receipt, to be shown on demand.

Part I
Applicants should have passed in 10th Standard with English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with 6 months engineering work experience either as Trainee or Employee.

Part II
