B.ed admission process in Maharashtra

For admission in B.ed program in Maharashtra you need to navigate on Directorate of Higher Education Maharashtra State official site

On its site click on Student Registration button in order to proceed with the online registration process
Fill the application form in English language only.
Give appropriate Yes/No type answers to the questions appearing on the computer screen. Based on your answers the software will check for primary eligibility.
If you are eligible in primary eligibility stage then tick on the Declaration box provided at the end of the questions.
After clicking on the declaration check box, “Proceed to Registration” button will appear.
In order to proceed with the registration process kindly click on the button.
Fill in the relevant information asked in the Online Application Form.

B. Ed 2013-14 Online Admission Process
1. Stages in Admission Process:
a. Online Application Process:
i. Visit website for B. Ed 2013-14 admission process.
ii. Kindly click on Student Registration button in order to proceed with the online registration process
iii. Kindly fill the application form in English language only.
iv. Kindly give appropriate Yes/No type answers to the questions appearing on the computer screen. Based on your answers the software will check for primary eligibility.
v. If you are eligible in primary eligibility stage then tick on the Declaration box provided at the end of the questions.
vi. After clicking on the declaration check box, “Proceed to Registration” button will appear.
vii. In order to proceed with the registration process kindly click on the button.
viii. Kindly fill in the relevant information asked in the Online Application Form.
2. Modes and Process of Paying Application Fees:
a. Application fees can be paid using Online (Net banking/ Debit or Credit Card) or SBI Challan or MKCL’s ALC Centers.
i. After filling required information, system will generate login ID, password and SBI challan or ALC challan depending on the mode of payment selected by the candidate. The challan will be displayed on the screen. You will also receive your login ID and password on SMS. (Please enter correct mobile number to get login ID and password by SMS). This Login ID is also your form number. (The facility of sending SMS to the candidates is an additional service provided by MKCL. In case SMS is not received by any candidate MKCL will not be held responsible.)
ii. Take a print out of Login details and Challan by clicking on “Print My Login Challan details” button.
iii. Applicant should visit nearest SBI bank on next working day along with duly filled challan and pay application fee along with bank charges in cash as printed on the challan. Bank will accept application fee and give acknowledgement on applicant copy of the challan.
iv. Candidates can pay the application fees using Net Banking / Credit Card/ Debit Card.
v. Please pay applicable fee before last date mentioned in the advertisement. Fees once paid are non-refundable.
vi. After making payment of fees in SBI or through Net banking, it takes one working day for the reconciliation of fees paid. Kindly check your fee payment status in your login the next day after paying the fees.
vii. If you have paid the application fees using Credit Card / Debit Card then it takes 2 working days for the fees to be reconciled.
b. Approving the Online Application Form:
i. After you receive SMS regarding fee payment or if the fee payment status in your login is Paid then you can proceed with further completion of online form. Kindly click on Fill Application Form button to continue filling the online application form.
ii. Applicant must fill following information in the form.
1. Personal Information.
2. Reservation Details.
3. Qualification Details.


4. Upload scanned copy of Photograph and Signature.
5. Experience Details.
6. Other Essential Information.

iii. Without filling above information your form will not be completed.
iv. After filling the entire information kindly click on Approve button to complete the registration process.
v. Take a print of the application form for further reference.

TIP: 1. Candidate should not send the print out of the application form to MKCL Office or to DHE.
2. Kindly check the website for regularly for any updates regarding the B. Ed admission process.
3. Admit card for written examination, Merit List, Preference Form shall be available in your login as well as on the website. There will not be any written communication before the examination.

Admission procedure for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Maharashtra is done by the single window system - Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). It is carried out on the basis of the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET). Candidates are required to fulfill the specified eligibility criteria for appearing for CET.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate need to clear Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to the B.Ed course. The eligibility requirements for appearing for the Common Entrance Test are as follows:

Candidates need to complete a Bachelor or Post Bachelor degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks for applying for CET. Reserved Category Candidates need score minimum 45% aggregate in the qualifying examination.

Candidates with graduation or post graduation degree from universities outside Maharashtra are also eligible to apply for CET. They have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

Candidates appearing for the final semester post graduate or graduate exam are also eligible to apply.

Admission procedure

Admission to the various colleges/institutions affiliated to universities in Maharashtra, offering a course in Bachelor of Education, is through the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). Candidates are required to apply online.

The allotment process is based on the marks secured in the Common Entrance Test (CET).Three main areas are tested in the entrance exam.
Mental Ability
Teacher Aptitude
General Knowledge

The entrance test is for 50 marks.

The examination follows the objective based multiple choice question format.

Candidates are required to complete the examination within one hour.

The medium followed will be Marathi or English.

Candidates belonging to the general category and those who have completed their education from universities outside Maharashtra should obtain a minimum of 18 marks to qualify.

Candidates belonging to the Backward Communities should obtain a minimum of 15 marks in the entrance exam.
For admission in English medium colleges /institutions are required to write the English Language Content Test (ELCT). ELCT carries a total of 50 marks.

Candidates need to secure a minimum of 36%, that is, 18 marks in the English Language Content Test for admission to colleges offering B. Ed in the English medium.

The merit list is prepared according to the marks secured in the entrance exam.

Candidates will be called for interview according to the order of merit.

Allocation of seats in various colleges follows the rules and guidelines laid by the government.

Candidates can seek admission to aided and unaided government colleges offering B.Ed course.

Admission to non-government colleges is also based on the centralized allotment process. Seats are also available in minority colleges.

Candidates can also seek admission through the management quota.
