Re: AP TEST Tips
Advanced Placement (AP) examinations are taken each May by students at participating American, Canadian, and international educational institutions. As you asking for some tips to do good in this exam , some your demand here I am telling same for you: Answering essay questions generally requires a good deal of training and practice. Carefully analyze the question, thinking through what is being asked, and identify the elements that must be addressed in the response. After you have determined what is involved in answering the question, consider what evidence you can incorporate into your response. Whenever you offer evidence to illustrate contrast or similarity, clearly state your intent. Begin writing only after you have thought through the evidence you plan to use, and have determined what your thesis statement will be. Learn how to present your thesis statement: If you have done the analytical work required prior to writing, you should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of the question While essay writing in general is a valuable exercise, you may wish to work specifically on free-response questions from previous AP Examinations Examine each question for a maximum of forty seconds (on the average, some will take less time allowing more time for others, like item sets). Quickly determine the subject of the question. Remember that there will be some math questions but their solutions will be based on basic calculations, rounding, estimating, and approximation. By the end of the forty seconds either: Mark the correct answer from one of the four answer choices. Mark a “Y” next to the questions that you know how to work but need more time. Mark an “N” next to the questions that you don’t have any idea how to work. Force yourself to move through fifteen questions each ten minutes and the full sixty questions in forty minutes. Now make a second pass concentrating on the “Y” questions only Now make your third pass. Focus only on the “N” questions You should try to answer ALL questions. |
