TAFE NSW operates its courses through its ten individual Institutes. These are four metropolitan and six regional Institutes with a total of over 130 campuses across NSW. The course structure offered in Allied Health Assistance in TAFE NSW is as follows: Group 1 Core Units Contribute to organisational effectiveness in the health industry Implement and monitor compliance with legal and ethical requirements Implement and monitor infection control policy and procedures Contribute to WHS processes Group 2 Assist with the application and removal of a plaster cast Deliver and monitor a client-specific exercise program Assist with physiotherapy treatments and interventions Deliver and monitor exercise program for mobility Assist with basic foot hygiene Assist with podiatric procedures Assist with podiatry assessment and exercise Assist with the rehabilitation of clients Assist with the development and maintenance of client functional status Conduct group sessions for individual client outcomes Support the development of speech and communication skills Provide support in dysphagia management Assist and support the use of augmentative and Applicant qualification requires an advanced level of communication skills. Physical fitness will be required to be able to bear a significant amount of weight when transferring physically dependent client. Applicant should be working in the Allied Health field as a Therapy Aide or Therapists Assistant to enable completion of skill sets and workplace observation. |
