Yes you can apply for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering after passing distance education Master of computer application course.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an all India examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) .

GATE eligibility after MCA :
You have to passed Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent

GATE exam streams or subjects :
Aeronautical Engineering./ Aerospace Engineering.
Agricultural Science
All other disciplines in Sciences
Ecology and Evolution
Food Technology/Food Processing Engineering.

After completing my Post graduation in MCA by distance education can I apply for GATE exam? What eligibility require for GATE exam after MCA?

There is no restriction in the number of attempts for GATE. As per my searching Second and third year MCA students are eligible for GATE.

Eligibility:
Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes

But BSc. BCA and BCS (a three years degree) students are not eligible for GATE Exam.

MCA or equivalent
Qualificxation: Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent

Also students are applicable those are currently in the final year or already completed
