I am providing you the Syllabus of Karnataka Public Service Commission KPSC Exam Karnataka Public Service Commission KPSC Exam Syllabus The Karnataka Public Service Commission Civil Service Examination is conducted at the following two levels namely: Preliminary Examination Mains Examination Personal Test (Interview) Preliminary Exam- The Preliminary Examination of the KPSC Civil Services Exam is an objective type paper having multiple choice questions of 100 Marks. The candidates will be given questions on the following sections Paper I: General Studies & Humanities Paper II: General Studies, General Science & Technology, and General Mental Ability The Main Exam will be conducted for only those candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination. The Main Exam consists of questions on the following eight papers: Paper I: Kannada of 150 Marks Paper II: English of 150 Marks Paper III & IV: General Studies of 300 Marks Paper V, VI, VII & VIII of 300 marks each. Two subjects will be optional List of Optional Subjects Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Co-operation and Sericulture Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences and Fisheries Anthropology Botany Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce Criminology Economics Electrical Engineering Geography Geology History Law Management Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Philosophy Physics Political Science and International Relations Psychology Public Administration Rural Development Sociology Statistics Zoology One of the following Languages: Kannada, English, Hindi, Urdu Personality Test (Interview) The candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before them a record of his or her career except marks secured in their Main Examination. He/She will be asked questions on matters of general interest. The object of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in public services by a Board of competent and unbiased observers. Interview consists of 200 marks Syllabus - Preliminary Examination (Objective type) Paper 1 Current events of National and International importance. Humanities History of India Emphasis shall be on the broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects with a focus on Indian national movement with particular emphasis on Karnataka. World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on Karnataka. Indian Polity and Economy, including the countrys political system, rural development, planning and economic reforms in India-sustainable development, poverty alleviation, demographics, social sector initiatives, etc. Paper 2 Current events of State importance and critical State Govt. programs. General Science & Technology, Environment & Ecology contemporary developments in science and technology, and their implications including matters of everyday observations and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline, general issues on Health, environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change- that do not require subject specialisation. General Mental Ability Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Analytical ability, Decision-making, problem-solving, Basic innumeracy (numbers and their relations, the order of magnitude, etc.,) and data interpretation ( charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc., (Class X / SSLC level).
