I am doing job in School and I have completed B.Tech engineering course and now I am planning to do part time M.Tech course from Indian Institute of Technology Patna so tell me the part time M.Tech courses offered by this Institute? I have to clear any entrance exam for admission in these courses?

At IIT Patna M.Tech admission is through GATE. The department reserves the right to conduct interviews for admission to the program even if the applicant has a valid GATE score.

The department is planning to start two other M.Tech programmes

The advertisement of M.Tech programmes is published in newspaper and uploaded on IIT Patna website in the month of March (normaly) every year.

The specialization of M.Tech programmes in which candidates can apply and other eligibility requirements e.g. GATE paper etc. are also mentioned in the same advertisement.

Eligibility:

Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech Programme of the Institute shall have to possess a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale) for General/OBC categories and 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale) for SC/ST categories in the final qualifying examination.

Selection Procedure:

Selection is based on performance in GATE and Personal Interview of short-listed candidates. Marks obtained in GATE and in personal interview will have 70% and 30% weight-age respectively.

A personal interview will be held to test the skills in basic science, engineering, and relevant areas. Personal interviews will be conducted at IIT Patna.

Application Fee:

Application Fee of Rs. 300/- (for Gen/OBC candidates) and Rs.150/- (for ST/SC/PD/Female candidates) must be submitted through an online module.
