Give contact details of department of NIT Mizoram where students can get entry pass to join them. Are the Entry passes free for students or not?

Can you tell me if the opening and closing timing of Library of NIT (National Institute of Technology) Mizoram is same for Students and Teachers?

In order to serve the diverse library needs users the central library of NIT (National Institute of Technology) Mizoram has collections of Textbooks, e-Books, Reference Books, Conference Proceedings, Annual Report, Magazines and Non-Book Material such as CD-ROMS etc.


TIMING

The library opens 5 days a week i.e. Monday-Friday as per normal office timing.


EDUCATIONAL BOOKS

The central library holds more than 7000 educational books which are as per the course requirement of the various semesters of different departments. It accepts donations of books.

Due to space constraints the central library has not much collection of Reference books since books which are of immensely required are only collected.

For professional development of faculties, Research activities of research scholars and students it also subscribed E-journals like:

IEEE-IEL Online eJournals
ASME eJournals
ASCE eJournals
Taylor & Francis Journals of Science and Technology
INDISTAT eJournals

These eJournals are accessible only through the institute network or a specific institute IP address.


NEWSPAPERS

It also subscribed one local newspaper and other national newspapers like Times of India, The Telegraph, Newslink, The Economic Times, Employment News and also Magazines like India Today, Sporstar.


EBOOKS

Apart from the subscription of eJournals, collection of Textbooks, References, Newspapers and Magazines, it has accessed to e-books particularly from Tata McGraw Hills and Elsevier. These purchased e-books are accessible on and off the campus. The fraternity of NIT Mizoram can access these e-books anytime and anywhere.

LIBRARY AUTOMATION

It is automated with an integrated library management software package ‘LIBMAN’. Its collection is created and available through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to the users through the IP based online access to these resources.
