UGC NET Exam is conducted by University Grant Commission for the post of Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.

Important dates-

Online registration process from 15 October 2014.
Last date of online application 15 November 2014.
Exam date : 28 December 2014

NET exam eligibility-

Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from UGC recognised universities with at least 55% mark in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.

The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.

UGC NET Paper Pattern:-

The Test will consist of three papers.

Session:- First

•Paper:- I
•Marks:- 100
•Number of Question:- 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted
•Duration:- 1¼ Hours (09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.)

Session:- First

•Paper:- II
•Marks:- 100
•Number of Question:- 50 questions all are compulsory
•Duration:- 1¼ Hours (10.45 A.M. to 12.00 NOON)

Session:- Second

•Paper:- III
•Marks:- 150
•Number of Question:- 75 questions all are compulsory
•Duration:- 2½ Hours (01.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.)

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.

Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options).

The basic objective of UGC NET is to determine eligibility for college & university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.

You are asking for the important dates for the UGC NET June 2015. The UGC does not publish the NET June 2015 application notification. Here I am providing you the Tentative Date of UGC NET June 2015. These are as follows:

Start of Online Submission of: 13th February 2015

Date of close of deposit of fee (All Station): 11th March 2015

Date of close of online submission of application (All Station): 12th March 2015

Last date of receipt of duly completed hard copy of on line application in the Exam Unit (from remote areas): 23rd March 2015

Issue of e-Admission Certificate to registered candidates: Mid June – 2015

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examinations from universities/institutions recognized by UGC are eligible for the UGC NET.

Age Limit:

The maximum ages should not exceed 28 years for applicants of JRF (NET) as on 1st January 2015. There will be no limitation in ages for LS (NET) applicants.
