I came to know that Central Library of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras looks very beautiful so will you please provide me some pictures of the library so that I also can see? Also tell me from where I can download e-Journals at IITM? If I want to be a member of that library then what will be the procedure of registering at the library for being a member?

The library committee, in consultation with the head of the department, will design and co-ordinate the rules, regulations and functioning of the department library.

The committee faculty-in-charge will also act as the representative to the institute library committee and will interact with the central library of IIT Madras.

The collection of the Central Library in the area of science, technology, engineering, humanities, social sciences, management, generalia etc. is very strong.

The collection comprises mainly with books, theses, pamphlets , reports, current journals, back volumes, specifications, standards, patents, audio-video cassette, microfiche, microfilms CD-ROM databases etc.
