The Department of Studies and Research in Chemistry of Kuvempu University was established in the year 1993.

The department is actively involved in teaching, research and extension programmes.

Thrust area of research include, bio-organic chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, natural product chemistry, metal finishing and dyes & pigments.
