Earlier, ISRO had been aiming at launching the mission either in 2016 and 2018.

According to the Budget document, “Mars Orbiter mission envisages launching an Orbiter around Mars using Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle during the November 2013 launch opportunity.

The overall budget for ISRO has gone up from Rs 4,432 corer to Rs 6,715 corer with several other planned projects at a hike of Rs 2283 corer
