Re: IITD Atmospheric Sciences
The Centre for Atmospheric Sciences (CAS) was set up in the year 1979 at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Therefore, the Ministry of Education, Government of India subsidized the Center under the Sixth Five Year Plan. The Center was additionally co-supported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It has 14 center employees and around 50 investigate researchers/partners/researchers: a multi-disciplinary group of meteorologists, oceanographers, connected mathematicians, physicists, scientists, architects and scholars working in the territories of barometrical and maritime sciences. Right now, a MoU is set up between the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and IIT Delhi in beginning the M.Tech program in Atmospheric-Oceanic Science and Technology and further principal and connected research in the field. Likewise, MoES has financed blessing for the foundation of Sir Gilbert Walker MoES Distinguished Chair Professorship and three Dr. Sudhansu Kumar Banerji MoES exceptional youthful personnel association in the Centre.
