IES stands for Indian Engineering Service Exam
It is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of engineers in the Engineering Services of the Government of India.

Start Date for IES 2015 Registration: 22nd March 2015
Last Date for IES Registration 2015: 21st April 2015
Date of ESE IES 2015 Exam: 20th June 2015 (3 Days exam)

Educational Qualification:-
Candidate must have B.E./B.Tech degree or equivalent from recognized University

Age limit:
Age should be between 21 and 30 years

IES- Indian Engineering Service Exam is a four-part government service examination directed by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of engineers in the Engineering Services of the Government of India. IES exam is held for recruitment of engineers in government services/sectors of railways, roadways, defence, energy and telecommunication

Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination
i. Civil Engineering
ii. Mechanical Engineering
iii. Electrical Engineering
iv. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering

Eligibility for IES 2016 Exam:-


Age:-
Applicants aged between 21 and 30 years.

Educational Qualification:-

A B.E./B.Tech or passed sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or
Has Obtained a degree/diploma in engineering from such foreign university/college/institution recognized by the Government of India from time to time.
Must be qualified Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
-Qualified as an Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
Should Pass Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.

Nationality:-
The applicant must be any one of the following:

Applicant should be a citizen of India
Applicant can be citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan
The person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Applicants will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions available in the above mentioned site through drop down menu.

The applicant are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) [excepting Female/SC/ST/PH applicants who are exempted from payment of fee] either by remitting the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

Before begining to fill up Online Application, an applicant must have his/ her photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB each as well as must not be less than 3 KB in size for the photograph
