National Eligibility Test is for post graduate students wishing to apply for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship in Indian colleges and universities.

NET exam is conducted twice every year in the month of June and December respectively.

Important Dates
Apply online on website from July 22, 2014 to August 13, 2014
Last Date of Submitting Online Application Fee: August 23, 2014
Last Date for payment of NET December 2014 application.
Date of Single MCQ Examination: December 21, 2014

Exam Pattern
The Test will comprises of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions.

Session: First
Paper - I
Marks - 100
Duration - 1¼ Hours (09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.)
Number of Question - 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted

Session: First
Paper - II
Marks - 100
Duration - 1¼ Hours (10.45 A.M. to 12.00 NOON)
Number of Question - 50 questions all are compulsory

Session: Second
Paper - III
Marks - 150
Duration - 2½ Hours (01.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.)
Number of Question - 75 questions all are compulsory

Date of Start for Online Submission: 22-07-2014

Date of Close of Online Submission: 23-08-2014

Last Date of Receipt of Duly Completed Hard Copy of Online Application Forms: 29-08-2014

Last Date of Receipt of Duly Completed Hard Copy of Online Application Forms (From Remote Areas): 04-09-2014

Age calculated as on: 01-07-2014


UGC NET Exam Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must have completed Post Graduation in the concerned streams with minimum of 55% marks.

There is no age restriction for the exam.

Selection Pattern:
Candidates have to appear for the Written Exam conducted by UGC.
