Re: Father of Steel Authority of India
SAIL follows its cause to the developmental years of a rising country - India. After freedom the developers of cutting edge India worked with a dream - to lay the base for quick industrialisaton of the nation. The steel segment was to drive the financial development. Hindustan Steel Private Limited was set up on January 19, 1954. Extending Horizon (1959-1973) Hindustan Steel (HSL) was at first intended to oversee stand out plant that was coming up at Rourkela. For Bhilai and Durgapur Steel Plants, the preparatory work was finished by the Iron and Steel Ministry. Holding Company The Ministry of Steel and Mines drafted an arrangement explanation to advance another model for overseeing industry. The approach explanation was introduced to the Parliament on December 2, 1972. On this premise the idea of making a holding organization to oversee inputs and yields under one umbrella was mooted. This prompted the arrangement of Steel Authority of India Ltd. The organization, joined on January 24, 1973 with an approved capital of Rs. 2000 crore, was made in charge of overseeing five coordinated steel plants at Bhilai, Bokaro, Durgapur, Rourkela and Burnpur, the Alloy Steel Plant and the Salem Steel Plant. In 1978 SAIL was rebuilt as a working organization.
