Can you tell me in detail about Special Reservation in AP EAMCET or Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test?

AP EAMCET Reservation of Seats ensure that a certain amount of seats are reserved for the candidates of underprivileged section.

This section includes categories like SC, ST, PWD, etc.

Hence, the candidates belonging to these categories are provided relaxation as per the governmental norms.

AP EAMCET 2016 Reservation of Seats

According to the AP EAMCET Reservation of Seats, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) are provided reservation of 6% in the non-minority institutes.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) are granted relaxation of 15% in professional unaided non-minority institutes.

As far as Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates are considered, they are provided reservation of 25% according to EAMCET 2016 Seat Reservation.

Those with Physically Handicapped (PH) category with hearing, visualizing and orthopaedic disabilities are provided 3% horizontal reservation in ST, SC and OBC categories.

The AP EAMCET Reservation of Seats of 2% is also be available for the candidates whose father will be working under BSF, CRPF and staying in Andhra Pradesh at least from last 5 years or will Ex-servicemen.

The other reservations provided to the candidates of different sections as per the Seat Reservation of AP EAMCET are as mentioned below:

1. Active participants of NCC are eligible to get 1% seat reservation in the exam.
2. One is able to get a reservation of 0.5% in sports quota under games category.
3. Female candidates from any of the category or section provided the reservation of 33%.

One must keep in mind that the reservation norms are not be applicable if the candidates are selected on the basis of the merit and if the total female candidates are lesser, then their reservation will be passed on to the male applicants of the same category.
