The fee refund policy for admission in CUSAT (Cochin University of Science and Technology), Kerala is as follows: Fee Refund Rules Refund of fees, if any, will be governed by the following rules and regulations. When a student cancels admission before the commencement of classes, another student from the waiting list will be given admission and the student who cancelled admission will be refunded the entire fee remitted after deducting a processing fee of not more than Rs.1000/- When a student cancels admission after the commencement of classes, full amount of tuition fee remitted by one will be refunded, irrespective of the fact that one attends or does not attend the classes, provided that the consequent vacancy is filled up by another candidate. If the student cancels admission on or after the closing date of admission for the current academic year, one is not eligible for any refund. For NRI candidate of B. Tech. Marine Engineering Course who have paid the Non-refundable amount of US $ 5000 and who have been later upgraded/admitted to AIM/State Merit category and joined the same or another course in the University in these upgraded categories before the commencement of the classes by cancelling the admission in the NRI category, the fees to be paid by them for the AIM/State Merit category, has is the case may be will be adjusted from the fees/non-refundable amount paid by the candidate and the balance amount shall be refunded to one. For obtaining refund of fees for B. Tech Programmes a written request of one addressed to the Director, IRAA, CUSAT along with a signed stamped receipt (Revenue Stamp of Rs.1/-) is essential for processing the refund request. In case of all other programmes the refund request may be addressed to the Registrar, CUSAT and shall be forwarded through the Heads/Directors of the concerned Department/Schools.
