Company Secretary Course is offered by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). It has following three stages:

Foundation Program
Executive Program
Professional Program

Eligibility for the CS course:
The applicant should have completed 12th with good academic record from any recognized board of India.

Intermediate Course

Company Accounts and Cost & Management Accounting (ICA & CMA)
General Laws and Commercial Laws (IGCL)
Management Information Systems and Corporate Communication (IMIS & CC)
Tax Laws (ITL)

Group-II
Company Law (ICL)
Company Secretarial Practice (ICSP)
Economic, Labour and Industrial Laws (IELIL)
Securities Laws and Regulation of Financial Markets (ISL & RFM)

Final Course
Group I:
Advanced Company Law and Practice (FACLP)
Secretarial Management and Systems Audit (FSMSA)
Secretarial Practice relating to Economic Laws and Drafting and Conveyance (FSPELDC)

Group II:
Banking and Insurance-Law and Practice (FBILP)
Corporate Restructuring-Law and Practice (FCRLP)
Financial, Treasury and Forex Management (FFTFM)

Group III:
Direct and Indirect Taxation-Law and Practice (FDITLP)
Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations (FHRMIR)

As you have asked about the Company Secretary course admission criteria, I am giving you information regarding that

Eligibility details:

For an applicant to be qualified for this exam, he should have cleared 10+2 exams. Provisional registration is also allowed for students of 10+2 awaiting their results.
Candidates who have cleared CA-CPT or have cleared CMA Foundation Exams or students who have a Master’s degree in any discipline other than Fine Arts are exempt from appearing CS Foundation Exams.


The student who would like to join the Course after 10+2 pass or equivalent has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries Course i.e.
Foundation Programme
Executive Programme
Professional Programme

The Student who would like to join the Course after passing the Graduation has to undergo two stages of the Company Secretary ship i.e.

Executive Programme
Professional Programme

Foundation Programme which is of eight months duration can be pursued by 10+2 pass or equivalent students of Arts, Science or Commerce stream (Excluding Fine Arts)

Executive Programme can be pursued by a Graduate of all streams except Fine Arts.

Professional Programme can be pursued only after clearing the Executive Programme of CS Course
