The British School in the Netherlands (BSN) is an IB-classified group of independent schools based in and around The Hague. The school is open to students from 3 to 18 years of age, and also offers day care for 0-3s. The schools follow the British curriculum. Founded in The Hague in 1931 by Gwen Brunton-Jones. There are four schools: 1. BSN Junior School Diamanthorst 2. BSN Junior School Leidschenveen 3. BSN Junior School Vlaskamp 4. BSN Senior School Junior School Diamanthorst Junior School Diamanthorst opened in September 2003, the school accommodates around 340 children aged 3 to 11. It is situated in the quiet residential Mariahoeve area of The Hague. The current Head is Angela Parry-Davies. Junior School Leidschenveen Junior School Leidschenveen is a brand-new campus in the Leidschenveen area of The Hague. School provides 576 places for children aged 3 to 11 years. The campus includes dedicated facilities for Out of School Care and a Day Care Centre for 0- to 3-year-olds. The current Head is David Porritt. Junior School Vlaskamp Junior School Vlaskamp provides accommodation for approximately 650 children aged 3 to 11. The current Head is Sue Aspinall. It is the original school and was opened in 1997. Junior School Assen Established in 1976, the BSN Junior School Assen (The Helen Sharman School) was a small school community based in the north of the Netherlands. The school roll continued to fall and was closed at the end of the school year in 2011. Senior School Situated in Voorschoten - a quiet residential area just outside The Hague - the BSN Senior School provides a learning environment for up to 1,100 students from all over the world. The current Head is Peter Simpson. |
