BIT (Birla Institute of Technology) Mesra, Extension Centre Kolkata Campus was established in 1995. It offers academic programmes in Computer Science and Business Management, Bioinformatics and Electronics and communication, Mathematics & Computing.

It is located in the southern part (Rajdanga, Kasba) of the city. Its premises includes a computer laboratory with a server room, several lecture rooms, a seminar hall, and a library. Students have free access to online journals through ACM, IEEE and Emerald-online. The whole Centre is networked and internet facilities are provided.
