The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) or IIT-M is an autonomous public engineering and research institution located in Chennai (formerly Madras), Tamil Nadu, India.

About DSP:

Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) are microprocessors with a specialized architecture that is optimized for digital signal processing applications.

Today DSPs are found in wide variey of devices, from cellular phones to audio/video players, TV sets, telecom equipment, medical equipments, etc.

Eligibility:

Students who have completed at least 6 semesters of studies are eligible to attend the course.

Prerequisites:
Students are requested to fulfill the following pre requisites in view of the intended course at IIT Madras:

Understanding of Microprocessor concepts and instructions
Basic idea of assembly language programming
Basic concepts of signals and systems like

Linearity of System and Convolution,
Modulation,
PCM (Pulse Code Modulation),
DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) and IDFT
