Test of Essential Academic Skills Nursing Exam Details
The examination is available in a computerized format.
Candidates are given 3 hours and 29 minutes to finish the examination.
There are 170 multiple option questions.
There are 4 sub test fields: Mathematics, Reading, English and Science.
The questions normally extend content from grades 10 – 12 in US high schools.
Results are available immediately after the end of the examination.
No calculators are permitted during the examination.
Candidates will be provided with scratch paper and pencil at the test centers.

Math – 45 questions – Whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions and decimals, algebraic equations, percentages and ratio/proportions
Science – 30 questions – Science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles and general science
English – 55 questions – Punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words and spelling
Reading – 40 questions – Paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension and inferences/conclusions
