Pennsylvania Graduation Requirements
The Pennsylvania State Board of Education has followed aimed amendments to the Chapter 4 regulations dealing with high school graduation requirements. Those aimed revisions include the creation of what are famous as Graduation Competency Assessments, or GCA’s.According to the 22 PA Code Section 57.31, the following are the Pennsylvania requirements for graduation:
In grades 9 by 12 every student graduating shall have finished 120 hours of instruction in the following 21 units of credit:
English – 4
Mathematics – 3
Science – 3
Social Studies – 3
Arts or Humanities or Both – 2
Health and Physical Education – 1
candidates selected in five additional programs from among those sanctioned for credit toward graduation through the school including sanctioned vocational education program.
