Introduction
Madras University lanched in 1857.The University of Madras is one of the three old universities in India. The University of Madras, formed on the model of the University of London, was integrated on 5 September 1857 through an Act of the Legislative Council of India. The university is located in the southern city of Chennai (formerly known as Madras). Madras University has four campuses in the city – Chepauk, Marina, Guindy and Taramani. More than 50 sections provide a range of specialization disciplines.
