The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was established in July 1989 by Act XX- (1989) of the Maharashtra State Legislature. The University is approved by University Grants Commission UGC.

The BCA programme is of 3 years duration.

The learner should complete it within a maximum period of 5 years.

A learner who fails to complete it within 5 years will be required to re-register for the programme.

BCA Eligibility-

12th standard of HSC Board of Maharashtra, or its equivalent [including MCVC]

OR

3-year Diploma of Board of Technical Examination or equivalent (other than computer and Information technology)

OR

2-year ITI Programme of any trade after 10th standard-passed
OR

2-year course of Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Education after 10th

OR

YCMOU Preparatory passed
