The Osmania University is a public state university located in Hyderabad, India, founded in 1918 with the help of chief architect of Mahbub Ali Khan Nawab Sarwar Jung.

It is the seventh oldest in the Country and third oldest in South India.

Osmania University is re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (an Autonomous Institution of the University Grants Commission) as 'A' Grade University.
