As you want to get the details of what will be the process to apply for M.Tech in NITs so here it is for you:

I want to tell you that you have to give the exam of GATE

GATE 2014 Exam Pattern:
Candidates will be tested on their comprehension and application skills, recall as well as analytical abilities
Candidates will have to answer Multiple Choice Questions and Numerical Questions.
General Aptitude Questions are compulsory for all GATE 2014 exam papers
GATE 2014 XE Paper will have a compulsory section in Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude along with any two of XE sections B to G.
GATE 2014 XL Paper Pattern will have a compulsory section inSection H in Chemistry and General Aptitude along with any two of XL sections I to M.

GATE 2014 Application Fee:
General/OBC-NCL Male Candidates: Rs 1500
SC / ST / PD category Candidates: Rs 750
Women Candidates: Rs 750

GATE 2014 Application Fee Payment:
Online through Net Banking OR Through downloaded and printed Challans at any branch of SBI or Syndicate Bank.

GATE 2014 Important Dates:
GATE 2014 Online Enrolment: from September 2 to 1 2013
Last Date for GATE 2014 Online Application Submission: October 3, 2013
Receipt of Printout of GATE 2014 Online Application Form at Zonal Centre: By October 17, 2013 (extended date from October 10, 2013)
Request for Change in the GATE 2014 Exam Centre: From November 15 to 25, 2013
Download of GATE 2014 Admit Card: December 18, 2013
GATE 2014 Examination: On February 2 , 15 & 16 , March 1 & 2, 2014

As you wants to do M.tech from the Nits the general Admission procedure for the M.tech course is given below :


Eligibility criteria to M.Tech./M.Plan. admission will be 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC/OB/OM whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST candidates in the qualifying degree.
