TIFR Entrance Exam is conducted by the institute to provide admission to graduate programme leading to the award of Ph.D., Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. as well as M.Sc. degree in certain subjects.

Eligibility

For Ph.D. (Mumbai): M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./M.A./ B.A./B.Sc.
For Ph.D. (Bengaluru): M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech.
For I-Ph.D. (Bengaluru): B.A./B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. (M.Sc. candidates are not eligible).

Syllabus

TIFR Entrance Exam consists of questions from the relevant subjects up to the level of Graduation.

Exam Pattern

TIFR consists of objective multiple choice type of questions from the relevant subjects.

Application Fee
For Male Candidates:
Rs 500/- for online applications and Rs 550/- for manual applications. Rs 800/- for taking the test as a walk-on candidate.
Female Candidates :
Rs 100/- for online and manual applications. Rs 200/- for taking the test as a walk-on candidate.
