Re: What Is The GRE Exam
As you have asked about the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), I am giving you information about it GRE is a standardised test that is accepted for admission to various disciplines at many graduate and business schools across the globe. It is available at about 700 test centers in more than 160 countries. You can take the test once every 21 days and datesare availbale all around the year. The GRE test is available in two formats. They are GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test. The GRE Test Syllabus is different for both the formats. While the GRE General test measures a candidate’s verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills the GRE Subject Test is focused on judging the candidate’s expertise in specific fields like Biology, Literature, Mathematics among others. Exam pattern: The structure of the computer-based GRE revised General Test consists of five sections. The first section is always the analytical writing section involving separately timed issue and argument tasks. The next five sections consist of two verbal reasoning sections, two quantitative reasoning sections, and either an experimental or research section. These five sections may occur in any order. The experimental section does not count towards the final score but is not distinguished from the scored sections. Duration About 3 hours and 45 minutes (includes 1-minute breaks after each section and a 10-minute break after third section). |
