The West Bengal University of Technology conducts Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) to grant admission in M.Tech/ M.E./ M.Pharm courses. The colleges affiliated to MAKAUT takes admission through WBUT PGET.


Eligibility for PGET - 2019

An Indian citizen with a relevant AICTE approved Bachelor Degree in Engineering/ Technology/Pharmacy/Architecture or appearing in the final year exam of such programmes or equivalent.

Equivalence means one should be an Associate Member of a Professional of Engineers that are recognized by the Govt. of India for the purpose of admission to higher studies in Engineering.

M.Sc. or final year M.Sc. Candidates in appropriate branches are also eligible. However, degrees acquired through any distance education programme are not eligible.

One in final year will be granted provisional admission and will have to submit the final mark -sheet before a prescribed deadline or as may be fixed by the PGET Board.

In addition to the eligibility for PGET, the sponsored candidates must have 1 year experience in Polytechnic/Engineering College/ Industry. A certificate of sponsorship from the present employer must be submitted along with the application form.

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD will be as per the state government rules.

Verdict of the PGET Committee will be final in case of any dispute regarding the whole admission process

₹300/- SC / ST /PwD Category Candidates

Scheme of Examination

The Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) will consist of a single paper in the computer based test (CBT).
It will be of 90 minutes duration.
Each paper will have a total of 50 marks with 50 MCQs of 1 mark each.
One must appear in the entrance test of relevant subject.


WB PGET Counselling

The mode of Counselling is offline

On the basis of the score in the exam and other considered qualification the merit rank of WBUT PGET will be prepared and participants will be invited for counselling.

One being successful in making place in merit list will have to pay Rs. 500 as counselling fee.

During the counselling one will get option of selecting an institute and course available on the turn as per the choice.

Rank card of WBUT PGET and its photocopy

If qualified then score card of GATE/GPAT

Marks sheets and certificates from class 10th onward and photocopies of these

If taking admission on cast basis then cast certificate and its photocopy

Domicile certificate, if admission in government colleges is being taken

If required the PwD certificate and photocopy

In case of sponsored candidate experience certificate and sponsor certificate from employer

A DD of prescribed counselling fees of Rs. 500/- made in favour of WBUT PGET and payable at Kolkata
