VIT University Is AICTE Approved

I want to go at the VIT University for B.Tech Program. I have passed in Class 12 and want to do B.Tech. So I have appeared in Entrance Exam of VIT University and passed in that Exam. So I have to go there to submit the fee for 1st semester program. But I want to know about approval of this University. So pls tell me that the VIT University is approved by AICTE or Not?

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore or VIT University established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, and was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College.

As per me VIT is a deemed university and deemed universities don't require affiliation from AICTE. They are recognized by UGC (University Grants Commission). AICTE affiliation is required for engineering colleges which are affiliated to some other universities, which in turn are affiliated to UGC.
