Can you tell me the eligibility required and admission process for admission in Visveswaraya Institute of Aviation?

With the approval of DGCA, Visveswaraya Institute of Aviation conducts the AME training in Mechanical stream ( Aeroplane & Powerplants). Its course covers the fields of Light Aeroplane (LA), Heavy Aeroplane (HA), Piston Engine (PE) and Jet Engine (JE).

The eligibility required and admission process for admission in Visveswaraya Institute of Aviation is as follows:

Minimum Qualification for Admission of Students


a) Indian Students

The students should have passed 10+2 class with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board or university or its equivalent..

b) Foreign Students

Candidates of other nationality may be admitted for AME training classes, subject to the security clearance issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

The required qualification will be equivalent to as that for Indian candidates.

It will be ensured that the students have passed the 10+2 class or equivalent ‘A’ level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.

Age

The minimum age of the candidate, at the time of admission, must be 17 years. However, one should have completed the age of 20 years before submitting the application for issue of basic AME Certificate.

Medical Examination

The candidate will be subjected to a medical exam before they are admitted to the training institute by a doctor, holding at least an MBBS degree and by an ophthalmologist declares that the candidate is free from color blindness and other visual disorders.

Fee Structure
Application form and Prospectus Fee: Rs.500/650 by post.

An amount of Rs. 50000/- will have to be paid by the candidate for each semester and it should be paid before the start of the session.

Admission Policy

The Institute admits two batches of 30 students each in Mechanical Stream (Aeroplane and Powerplants) every year. The admission process starts in the month of May and the official classes preferably start by July. The list of admitted students will be forwarded to the DGCA after the commencement of the course.

Admission Procedure

All candidates for admission need to submit the application form.
The Photostat copies of the following documents need to be attached along with the application form.
(A) SSLC Certificate
(b) HSE/VHSE/CBSE Certificate
(c) Medical Fitness Certificate
(d) Police verification Certificate.

Students must present themselves before the career assessment cell on request. The final selection of candidates shall be made by the career assessment cell on the basis of their performance in the qualifying exam and interview.

If one is selected by career assessment cell, one will be given the intimation for the date by which one have to join the institute.
