Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology (AIT) is an engineering college in Chikkamagaluru, founded in 1980. It is currently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Its motto is 'Prosperity through Technology'.

Admissions & Eligibility for B.E Courses

Admission for the first year of the course is open for those who have passed the two year Pre-University exam (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board.
OR
10+2 the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a subject of study.
OR
Those who have passed another exam recognized by the University as equivalent there to


One passed in (10+2) or any other equivalent exam with English as one of the subjects and with 45% of aggregate marks in Physics ,Mathematics and one of the subjects of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biotechnology.


3 year Diploma Holders in appropriate branch of Engineering granted (awarded) by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka or any other Diploma qualification considered equivalent thereto by the University are eligible for admission.


All other candidates (Non-Karnataka) have to obtain eligibility certificate for seeking admission to B.E. degree course from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum through the College.


For foreign students - After ensuring that one meets the minimum essential requirements as specified, a letter of admission is issued by AIT based on which the candidate can obtain a visa from the Government of India. Admission is made only after one submits relevant documents including visa.
